The Power of Pumpkin
Orange vegetables are super foods for dogs and Pumpkin is right up there at the top of the list as a great addition to your dogs diet!
Adding pumpkin puree to your dogs food helps them with many digestive issues like diarrhea and/or constipation due to its fiber. It aids in weight management by promoting fullness for hours and provides essential vitamins (A, C, E) and minerals (potassium, iron) for immune, skin, eye, and muscle health. It is low in calories and hydrating.
It's a nutrient-dense, low-calorie addition that supports overall well-being and is often recommended by vets for mild stomach upsets. Rice and chicken is no longer reccomended as dogs shoukd have ZERO grains in their diet, the majority of demosticated dogs have intolerance to grains like wheat, corn or soy and rice is just a filler with no nutritional value. A can of magical pumpkin puree lasts between 3-5 meals depending on the size of your dog. It has stopped my Pug bum-scooting (along with electrolytes, which i will update you on asap) and i have read that if youve got a cheeky Mutt that likes to eat poop the taste of it after having eaten the pumpkin is a natural deterrent! Must be fed daily for this. With the cans of Pumpkin, most often advised for constipation here we tend to use when needed rather than all the time. Here is my Amazon Associates link to the.pumpkin puree we use Pumpkin Puree Tins it must be 100% pumpkin and no salt!
If you have a bum scooting dog or wish to add Pumpkin as a meal topper more regularly to meals then I advise using pumpkin powder. Its a much more cost effective way of adding the same goodness to your dogs diet. You can mix with warm or cold water to make a paste or you can just sprinkle the powder onto the cold pressed or kibble meal. Here is my Associates link to the powder we use almost everyday! Pumpkin Powder
Due to the powders rich fiber content, it acts as a prebiotic for gut flora, aiding massively in weight management by promoting fullness, and providing essential nutrients like Vitamins A, C, E, Potassium, and Iron for immune system boost, skin, coat, and eye health. It's a versatile, natural supplement that supports overall vitality and can even help with anal gland issues, as I mentioned above. Magical Stuff!
