Dog Eating Grass - Quick Fix
Why Dogs Munch Grass (And How to Curb It with Smart Supplements)
So why do they do it?
Most vets say it's not about making themselves vommit, that's an old myth. They eat grass for pretty normal reasons, they are more intune with their bodies than we think!
🐾The main reason is a Fiber fix. Their diet or just basic kibble might be low on roughage, so grass fills the gap. Especially new new spring grown, fresh stuff!
🐾Gut tweak. A little indigestion or reflux, grass can act like a natural antacid.
🐾Boredom or instinct. Pups explore with their mouths—grass is just...always available!
If it's constant or they're puking a lot (more than just bile) then chat with your vet as it could be diet gaps or something bigger. But if it's just casual grazing then supplements can help cut it back by boosting fiber and gut health.
Try these fixers:
Pumpkin Puree (plain, canned). Add a few spoonfuls to meals for easy fiber. Tastes good, settles stomachs. Its Magic stuff! Read my other blog Pumpkin Powder or Puree Blog
Probiotics + enzymes like Bone Broth add good bacteria and break down food better—less need to forage, its hydrating and contains so many good ingredients! The dogs love it 👌 served warm or cold alone or ontop of your Cold Pressed (or kibble).
Bottom line: Grass isn't poison (unless it's sprayed 🙄) but if you want greener lawns and less dog vommit, or just not having to stop constantly on a walk because they are non stop munching then a simple addition to the diet will make a big difference.
Top suggestions:
Pumpkin Puree a can lasts 4-5 meals depending on your dog.
Pumpkin Powder just as powerful as the powder, long term and lasts longer.
Bone Broth have this all year round, electrolytes for dogs. They will thank you for it.
